DSW or “Deep South Wrestling” is an independent wrestling organization located in McDonough, Georgia. It was at one time affiliated with the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) as one of its’ feeder organizations like OVW (Ohio Valley Wrestling) is for further training of young talent. The Federation began on 1 September 2005 and on 9 July 2006 debuted its’ first show on the Sports South channel on Comcast cable and aired 60 minute shows every Sunday night at 11:30 PM. On 18 October 2006 they also secured a TV deal to broadcast on MavTV, which is a lifestyle-themed channel, aimed toward men in the 18-54 age group. On 18 April 2007 WWE ended their agreement with the DSW organization. Because of this the organization’s last event had been held 1 week prior on 12 April 2007. The organization made an official announcement that it was shutting down on its’ website on 19 April. The WWE took all their talent and sent some of them to OVW and some of went to their new feeder organization FCW (Florida Chanpionship Wrestling). On 5 July 2007 OVW reopened its’ doors with all new talent and held their 1st show as a separate independent organization at the W.L. Carter’s Auction Company building in Locust Grove, Georgia. There has not been any mention of a new television deal as of yet.
