In his tireless pursuit of information and justice, private investigator Georg Dengler expertly gets inside the minds of criminals and their victims. He had been a highly successful special investigator with the federal police force, but quit after being sidelined.
Dengler is sent a prepaid mobile, and then receives €15,000 in an envelope and an anonymous phone call asking him to discover who shot Uwe Mundlos and Uwe Böhnhardt. Dengler believes the official line that they committed suicide, but needs the money and accepts the case. With the aid of Olga, a hacker operating underground, he begins to reconstruct the events that culminated in the deaths. Numerous inconsistencies are soon revealed and the pair are drawn into a dark world of neo-nazis, state security agents and neo-fascists. What they don't know is that they are already in the sights of the criminal masterminds.
