Legendary, five-time Emmy Award-winner Dick Van Dyke recognized for his iconic TV roles in 2013 with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Screen Actors Guild enjoyed yet another hit series for eight seasons (1993-2001) as Dr. Mark Sloan on CBS hour-long murder mystery, "Diagnosis Murder". As chief of internal medicine at Community General Hospital in Los Angeles and a L.A.P.D. consultant, Sloan has a knack for getting into trouble, negotiating the twists and turns of mysteries and solving crimes with the help of his son, Steve, a homicide detective played by real-life son Barry Van Dyke.
When George Lawson, a former medical student who of Mark's, wasdiagnosed with schizophrenia is found at a murder scene without an alibi, Mark,Jesse, Steve, and Steve have the large task of proving he had nothing to dowith the crime. Through the course of their investigation, Mark discovers thatthe jilted wife of the man who was having an affair with the victim's wifeknows more than she's letting on about what happened. As a result, they turn toGeorge and his coded messages for help in solving the crime.
A filmmaker friend of Alex convinces him to let him work ona documentary about a nurse who disappeared from Community General twenty fiveyears ago under mysterious circumstances. When the filmmaker goes to Mark withblood found in the course of his investigation, they soon suspect that the hospitalcould be haunted and that the filmmaker has a connection to the nurse.
