Andrea Fanti loses his memories of the last twelve years of his life because of a cerebral trauma, and, for the first time, he finds himself not to be the smartest, renowned medic as usual, but a simple patient. Without the memories from his life, the man falls in an unknown world where loved ones are strangers, and the hospital becomes the only place where he truly feels at home. Riccardo is looking into the case of a mysterious young woman, while jealousy and tension complicate his relationship with Martina and Matteo. Meanwhile, Damiano is anxious about his nephew Pietro's health, and Andrea is eager to finally return to the hospital wards.
Andrea continues to look into Campigli's past, and a new hospital admission might provide him with the chance to uncover what the Medical Director is hiding. Meanwhile, Riccardo is treating a patient who, much like himself, is regarded by everyone as a hero.
Giulia's mistake threatens to have irreparable consequences for everyone in the department. While she confides in Andrea, who urges her to tell the truth, Claudia is also torn over whether to tell Damiano what she witnessed.
Giulia does her best to support Andrea's decision, but he immediately chooses to bypass her and orders the hospitalization of a young woman with "diving suit syndrome" - a condition for which there seems to be nothing more that can be done.
Martina struggles to handle a patient's case and to ask her colleagues for help. Meanwhile, Damiano is forced to turn to Giulia regarding a delicate medical case, while she and Doc seem to be getting ever closer to the truth about the mysterious cases involving morphine.
A man takes Doc's team hostage, threatening the hospital in order to secure medical treatment for his wife. As the team races against time to reach a diagnosis, Doc continues his investigation into Campigli - but the mounting pressure threatens to land him in serious trouble.
