Freddy Dodge is no stranger when it comes to gold mining. With nearly 40 years of mining under his belt, he's known around the world as the "Gold Guru" and the person struggling mine owners call when they're striking out. Now he's going on the road to help struggling mine owners to hit the motherlode in Gold Rush: Mine Rescue with Freddy & Juan. To help him turnaround the operations, Freddy has teamed up with expert mechanic and fellow Gold Rush miner Juan Ibarra. At each location, the mining duo will use their knowledge of geology, prospecting, drilling and testing to get back on the paydirt. But it isn't just running their dirt faster. It's about making the operations better, and more importantly, running cheaper.
In the season premiere, Freddy and Juan face off at a hard rock mine spanning three elevations at 4,000 feet in the Cascades. Battling impenetrable rock, the guys devise an innovative 180-foot chute featuring a spiral concentrator in their first-ever Washington state rescue.
When nuggets dry up on a couple's mine, the guys must crack the case: is it the miners or the mine? Battling a faulty operation, they build a new shaker table and a never-before-seen sluice scissor mechanism, making everything out of nothing.
When Freddy and Juan get an SOS from an Oregon couple's mine, they must unravel an underground mystery buried beneath a dried riverbed. Facing misleading dredge tailings and a faulty homemade wash plant, the guys call in all-new tech as a final hope.
An all-female mine crew in Arizona struggles to mine for legendary riches with recycled water. As temps soar, Freddy and Juan scramble to build more efficient solutions and locate higher-grade gold in an ambitious attempt to triple the women's production.
Two rookie miners in MT desperately need to double their gold after a disastrous start to the season. Battling a personal crisis, Juan rejoins Freddy as they follow signs of old mining tunnels and use new technology to uncover ancient river channel gold.
