When Mr Traber offers a prize to the student who does the best in the school test Theresa puts Peters goats in danger to make sure he won't get to class that day, luckily Heidi is there to help Peter retrieve his goats and get him another chance at the test.

Theresa is devastated by the news that Karl and his father are moving to another town so when Karl organises a scavenger hunt for the prize of his fossil collection Theresa cheats to keep a small part of him in Dörfli with her.

When Clara's visit to Dörfli is put at risk because Miss Rottenmeier would rather stay in the village but Clara wants to stay at the cabin the girls must work together to convince her to stay.

When Heidi and Grandfather take Clara for a picnic in the mountains without Miss Rottenemeier's permission she goes out alone to look for them and gets lost in a terrible storm where her survival skills are tested.

Grandfather must return to the Devils Bridge to finish his construction but the place holds terrible memories for him and by helping him through his pain Heidi discovers more about her family.

When Miss Rottenmeier's childhood sweetheart , Frederich, gets a job as Grandfathers assistant she pretends not to know him and insists she and Clara leave at once, as such Heidi and Clara make a plan to miss the train and get into quite a bit of trouble in the process forcing Miss Rottenmeier to work with Friedrich to rescue them.
