Next Episode of Kansas City SWAT is
not planed. TV Show was canceled.
Kansas City is the most centrally located principal city in the U.S. 1,322 sworn officers and 633 civilian employees make up the police department. The SWAT teams are responsible for 322 square miles in 4 counties that have a daytime population of more than 800,000 people. The Kansas City Missouri Police Department has three Tactical Response Teams (TRT) and one Street Narcotics Unit Tactical Response Team or "SNU TAC" team. Each team consists of one captain, two sergeants and twelve police officers.
To make the TRT squad, Kansas City police officers must pass various physical and skill exams that include an obstacle course and marksmanship tests. Once they've met the requirements for those, extensive background checks are performed on each officer. The final step before making the team is a personal interview with a TRT sergeant. TRT squad applicants must also have a minimum of 3 years experience on the Kansas City Police Department in order to apply.
The SNU TAC team is responsible for serving narcotics-related search and arrest warrants. They serve over 450 warrants a year to some of the most dangerous criminals in Kansas City, MO. (Source: http://www.aetv.com/dallas_swat/dswat_training.jsp)
