Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer are back to guide more house-hunters through an ever-changing market, beginning in Surrey, a commuter hotspot for people who work in London and a county filled with English charm. Emily and Jack have put their wedding on hold until they find a home but have so far fallen foul of houses not looking as good as they do in the brochures. Jane, who has worked all over the world, wants to put down roots in Farnham. Phil lives nearby but it soon becomes clear his local knowledge is no guarantee of an easy search.

Emily and Lucy, a paramedic and a nurse, are spoilt for choice when Kirstie gives them multiple attractive options that are convenient for the hospital where they both work.
