The Devil has come to Los Angeles…Based upon the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for DC Entertainment's Vertigo imprint, Lucifer is the story of the original fallen angel. Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar has abandoned his throne and retired to L.A., where he owns Lux, an upscale nightclub.Charming, charismatic and devilishly handsome, Lucifer is enjoying his retirement, indulging in a few of his favorite things--wine, women and song-–when a beautiful pop star is brutally murdered outside of Lux. For the first time in roughly 10 billion years, he feels something awaken deep within him as a result of this murder. Compassion? Sympathy? The very thought disturbs him--as well as his best friend and confidante, Mazkeen aka Maze, a fierce demon in the form of a beautiful young woman.
Chloe returns from Europe after processing Lucifer's devil face, and Lucifer is shocked by her reaction. Maze processes what happened between her and Trixie, Amenadiel processes his visit to the Silver City, and Dan processes what happened to Charlotte.
Chloe and Lucifer look into a murder on the set of a reality show. Father Kinley presses forward with a plan. Amenadiel reconsiders his idea of home.
Chloe and Lucifer investigate the deaths of two ex-gang members, while Dan gets Maze's help to question their former gang. Amenadiel studies up on human babies and then proposed to Linda.
After they stop working together, Lucifer and his new partner come at a murder case from a different angle than the police. Linda realizes the nature of her baby and gets a new caregiver.
On Linda's advice--sort of--Lucifer decides to end his partnership with Chloe. Ella further questions her faith in God, and Amenadiel wonders if Eve is up to something.
Lucifer tries to balance his work and personal lives. Amenadiel receives an unexpected visitor, and Maze finds a baby gift for Linda.
Chloe and Eve both worry that the other is a bad influence on Lucifer. Amenadiel battles his sister to keep his child on Earth, and Lucifer checks his wings for the first time since he killed Pierce.
Chloe tells Lucifer about the prophecy, and he decides to stop it by breaking up with Eve. Amenadiel wonders if he can be a father and mentors a teen to find out.
After his epiphany with Linda, Lucifer finds his physical appearance becoming more demonic than ever. Maze tries to make her feelings about Eve known to the latter, but Eve is too busy trying to find a way for her and Lucifer to be together to notice.
Eve's plan to contact Hell goes awry, unleashing demons upon LA that kidnap Amenadiel and Linda's baby after Lucifer abdicates.
