Next Episode of MasterChef is
Season 8 / Episode 12 and airs on 23 August 2017 20:00
Three celebrated food experts put the latest group of contestants through a series of challenging elimination rounds and turn one home cook into a culinary master.
Famed chef Gordon Ramsay conducted a nationwide search for the best home cooks in America, and through a series of exciting elimination rounds, will turn one of them into a culinary master. Joining Ramsay on the judging panel are restaurateur and wine maker Joe Bastianich, owner of some of the most-celebrated Italian restaurants across the country; and Graham Elliot, the youngest four-star chef in the U.S. and mastermind behind Chicago's first "bistronomic" restaurant. In the series premiere episode, home cooks from all over the country present their signature dishes to the three judges in the hopes of being awarded the coveted MASTERCHEF apron, which guarantees them a spot in the next round of competition.
In the search to find the best amateur home cook in America, only a few more hopefuls have the opportunity to present their signature dish to judges Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot. Some chefs wow the judging panel with their raw talent and many fall flat, but one thing is for certain: all of the home cooks endure an intense grilling. The remaining contestants pour their hearts into their creations in order to convince the judges they have the potential to take the culinary world by storm.
Thirty home cooks have made it this far in the competition, but only half of them will remain by the end of tonight's episode. After impressing the judges with their signature dishes, the hopefuls will have to prove that they have mastered basic kitchen techniques, including slicing onions and cooking an egg to perfection. Find out whose skills are sharp enough to advance to the next round and who cracks under pressure when the Top 14 are revealed.
The Top 14 contestants enter the MASTERCHEF kitchen for the very first time and begin on a journey that will change their lives. Judges Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot put the contestants through a series of challenges throughout each episode and at the end of them some contestants are sent home while the rest are left to move on in the competition. During the team challenge, the contestants spend the day feeding hundreds of Marines at Camp Pendleton. The team who wins the challenge is safe from elimination while the losers return to the MASTERCHEF kitchen to face a pressure test.
The home cooks are challenged to make a single cupcake, and while that sounds like a simple task, they quickly learn that it's not that easy. Later, special guest Chef Cat Cora and the contestants step out of the kitchen for the team challenge: cooking for truckers at a truck stop. The losers return to face the pressure test, where they must name as many ingredients they can from a table of fresh farmers-market finds.
For this week's team challenge, the contestants travel outside the MASTERCHEF kitchen to cater a high-end wedding. However, when the main course goes missing, the judges are less than pleased. The losers return to face the pressure test, where another home cook will be eliminated.
The judges force the home cooks work for their food as they all go fishing and are allowed to use only what they caught to make a delicious meal.
After enduring a series of intense pressure tests and grueling challenges, the moment has finally come for one MASTERCHEF contestant to claim the title of America's Best Home Cook. In the season finale, judges Gordon Ramsay, Joe Bastianich and Graham Elliot determine which amateur cook truly has the potential to transform their culinary dreams into reality. The contestants who have made it this far in the competition have earned the judges' respect, but only one will walk away with $250,000 and a cookbook-publishing deal and embark on a life-changing journey.
