After Joanna falls through the ice at the River Day Festival, she blames Dick for all the bad things in her life.
The Minuteman is shut down, so Dick and the gang try to help Kirk bring it up to code.
Dick gets extremely depressed after he finds out that the Stratford Inn cannot be declared a historic landmark.
Kirk is upset when Leslie's high school sweetheart returns from exotic travels and asks for her hand in marriage.

George is disappointed to find that an old flame is nothing like he remembers.
Dick and Joanna are upset when their friends come to visit and treat them as innkeepers.
Leslie's cousin comes to visit before her wedding, and finds she is attracted to Kirk.
Manny Silver visits and reminds Dick that he was the one who started his writing career.
