Nikola

Nikola is a German sitcom starring Mariele Millowitsch and Walter Sittler. Nurse Nikola Vollendorf, a divorced, warm but hardly direct person, takes a job at the Rheintalklinik, a hospital in Cologne, where she meets the egoistic doctor Robert Schmidt, who becomes her new boss. It doesn't take long and they confront each other with their strong personalities. Nikola and Dr. Schmidt begin a cat-and-mouse play, where they both realizes from time to time that they begin to develop feelings for each other.

The sitcom about the direct nurse and the arrogant doctor was for years the most successful German comedy with ratings around seven million viewers to it's best times. The series won many awards over the years and was an absolute favorite by audience and critics.

After nine seasons and eight years, the show ended after Millowitsch and Sittler decided to not do another year. The show ends with a happy ending for Nikola and Schmidt for what fans waited years for.
