The series follows Petey, a New York City "it" girl who has it all until her life comes crashing down around her. As luck would have it, a mysterious gift from her father gives her a new lease on life: she's going to "lean into" modernizing his small-town cult.
Petey embarks on a spiritual quest and runs into Bandit and his Little Einstein mentee. Eliza's crush on Grease Trap Connie gets out of hand, thanks to Mae Mae's supportive scheming.
Petey inadvertently gives approval to release pent-up swamp gas that sends the residents of New Utopia into a craze. Unfortunately for Petey, she has an important business deal to negotiate. Bandit runs for mayor against Pancakes the Dog.
When Petey's UTI causes gossip to run rampant in New Utopia, Petey's paranoia gets the better of her. Eliza and Grease Trap Connie learn to make gnocchi, and the Elders take a field trip to work on their bond.
