Season 1 / Episode 11 and airs on 07 January 2019 02:30
Rel is a multi-camera comedy starring Lil Rel Howery as a successful, hardworking father and husband on the West Side of Chicago, whose life is perfectly on track. That is, until he finds out his wife is having an affair with his own barber - the worst person for your wife to sleep with, because as hard as it is to find love, it's even harder to find a good barber. Now separated, and with his son and daughter having moved to Cleveland with their mother, Rel must begin the difficult task of rebuilding his life as a long-distance single dad. Offering Rel support are his best friend and unfiltered sounding board, Brittany, and his recently out-of-jail, excitable and overly encouraging younger brother, Nat, as well as his prideful and recently widowed Dad, who finds both his sons deep disappointments. As Rel works to repair his life, he often finds himself the victim of his own well-intentioned hubris. He is the "Icarus" of Chicago's West Side - repeatedly flying too close to the sun and getting burned. But, ever the optimist, he always dusts himself off to try again.
One of Dad's old friends and bandmates turns up as a patient at Rel's hospital. When Rel finds out their friendship ended on bad terms, Rel, Nat and Brittany investigate why Dad's band, "The Dragons," broke up all those years ago.
Rel meets a new friend when he gets stuck at the hospital in the midst of a blizzard. Across town, Brittany and Nat get snowed in at a bar, along with Brittany's emotional ex-boyfriend.
Brittany's estranged mom shows up unexpectedly in hopes of being reunited with her daughter. Rel convinces Brittany to give her a second chance, but Brittany isn't sure her mom is the changed woman she claims to be.
One of Rel's patients is prejudiced and Rel is conflicted on how to behave as his attending nurse. Meanwhile, Brittany, Nat and Dad hang out at Frances', where everyone is obsessing over Brittany's ex-boyfriend's awful new rap song.
In an attempt to make peace with his mother's death, Rel sees a therapist. Meanwhile, Dad tries to honor her passing by "celebrating," but has a hard time keeping it all together.
