River City features the lives of the people who live and work in the fictional district of Shieldinch in Glasgow, Scotland. The soap opera is shot on a staged set, which includes a street, interiors of a pub, bistro, café, various small businesses, subway station and basketball court.

Alex and Annie work desperately to protect Frankie after Faith tells them what Rick is capable of. Cassie sees Angus acting strangely, which leads her to jump to the wrong conclusion. Pete makes it difficult for Caitlin to let him down gently. Ellie tries to improve Maggie's living situation.
