River City, is a television soap opera, which was first broadcast on BBC Scotland on 24 September 2002. River City features the lives of the people who live and work in the fictional district of Shieldinch in Glasgow, Scotland. The soap opera is shot on a staged set, which includes a street, interiors of a pub, bistro, café, various small businesses, subway station and basketball court.

Desperate to get out of her baby shower, Amber's actions backfire spectacularly. Meanwhile, a guilt-ridden Gillian struggles to cope after Jonathon's death, and Kelly-Marie grows increasingly frustrated as Chris attempts to win her back.
Excited to have Drew home from rehab, Caitlin worries that a relapse is imminent. Meanwhile, Mikey announces his intention to revive his true crime podcast, much to Gillian and Roisin's horror. Lenny meets his grandson for the first time, and Viv sees that Harry and Emma are closer than ever.
Lenny jeopardises an important meeting when he receives a surprise visit from Mack. Maggie takes matters into her own hands to help a deflated Drew, Chris ups his game to try to win Kelly-Marie back, and Roisin attempts to maintain composure while taking part in Mikey's podcast.
Chris carries out his big plan to impress Kelly-Marie, but the execution is less than ideal. A determined Viv attempts to convince Emma what Harry is capable of, Caitlin works hard to give Drew a sense of purpose, and Lydia is sceptical over Lenny's news.
With Sam and Chris in crisis, a concerned Bob takes action to help his friends. A scheming Viv sets a trap for Emma, and Roisin's nerves get the better of her - especially when she receives shocking news. Meanwhile, a guilty Caitlin is confronted by Drew.
A determined Viv finally sets her plan in motion to kill Harry. Roisin is on the verge of confessing all, Lenny makes an enticing offer to a stunned Harry, and Sam accidentally gives Scarlett the wrong impression.

With Mikey determined to get answers, Gillian struggles under the pressure. Meanwhile, Chris's mission to help Bob find love massively backfires, a fed-up Eddie stands up to Viv, and Lydia schemes to bring Lenny and Alex back together.
A cautious Bob dips his toes into the dating scene, only to immediately regret it. Viv makes a drastic move when she feels Harry pulling away, Roisin's tetchy behaviour raises Tommy's suspicions, and Drew seeks inspiration.
Viv's ruse is threatened when Harry insists on joining her at the hospital. Meanwhile, a spiralling Roisin's inability to contain her stress proves disastrous for her and Gillian, Amber's priorities are tested, and Bob reconsiders his love life.
Roisin and Gillian's resolve is tested further when an ominous letter arrives. Amber finds purpose in helping to save The Oyster, Caitlin is determined to gain traction for Drew's running club, and Maggie finds a confidante in Dean.
Drew jeopardises his recovery while helping an injured Tommy, a furious Lydia confronts Amber when babysitting duties ruin her plans, Bob is shocked to learn Callum is struggling, and Emma gets more than she bargained for.
Upsetting news sparks a heated confrontation between Dean and Angus, Roisin's resolve is tested when she receives a blackmail note, Kelly-Marie is torn when she finds an unexpected lifeline, and Eddie is forced to reveal a secret from his past.
An empathetic Mack tries to get through to a self-destructing Callum, Lenny's decision to help Amber backfires with a frustrated Lydia, Eddie takes a defiant step to prioritise Maggie, and Drew has a new career goal in mind.
Eddie and Viv have some explaining to do when Tyler learns of a secret, Mulvaney's plan to catch the blackmailer goes awry, Amber finally opens up to Angus about her struggles, and Bob is hopeful but hesitant when he bumps into Alice.
A determined Mulvaney leads the charge to uncover the blackmailer's identity, Amber is bolstered to publicly condemn Richard, Caitlin fears Drew is using drugs again, and Chris pulls through for Bob when planning Mackenzie's birthday.
Bob is stunned when Mackenzie's chaotic birthday party leads to an upsetting discovery, Caitlin's competitiveness gets the better of her when fundraising for charity, Amber is given the fuel she needs to drive forward with the campaign, and Tommy is left bewildered by Conor.

The Santa dash gets off to a flying start, but a horrific discovery is made along the way. A terrified Viv prepares to face the music when Harry wakes up in hospital, Amber is devastated when the council ask her to resign, and Bob receives newfound hope about Alice.
The community processes the aftermath of the gruesome discovery, which manifests in panic for some. Amber is stunned when Lenny's interference gives her more than she bargained for, Alex acts on his growing suspicions of Viv, and Bob opens up to Alice.
