This week we go deep into Lex's psyche with the 12th episode of season 7: Fracture. When Lex is shot in Detroit, the only way to save him is for Clark to take a journey into his mind, where he confronts little Alexander and the darkness he's been carrying since childhood. And yet somehow we have fun discussing friendship and sexytimes in a solid episode.

Number 3 on his passport but number 1 in our hearts, Sam Jones III joins us to talk abut Pete's single episode return in season 7, episode 13, Hero. We talk about how fun and easy it is to come back to the Smallville set even when the subject matter is a little strange. In this one-off, Pete gains stretchy powers after chewing meteor-infected gum at a OneRepublic show at the Stride factory. It's a lot to swallow (but don't because that'll stay in your system for years). Great to see our old friend, but will this 45 minute gum commercial/concert appeal to the guys? It's too late to apologize but there's time now to find out!

Friend of the pod and super director/cinematographer Glen Winter joins us to talk about directing season 7, episode 14: Traveler. We discuss opening up the world of Smallville and the technical aspects of what it takes to pull off this kind of show. In the episode, Virgil Swann's daughter, Patricia, arrives to cut a deal with Lionel and uncover the secrets of the Veritas society. Clark gets ambushed and trapped in a kryptonite cage by a rogue agent, hellbent on his annihilation. Who will come to the rescue this week? It's the end of the world as we didn't know it. In the hopes that he will put a stop Brainiac's diabolical real-life plan, Clark is zapped into an alternate reality where he doesn't exist and Lex is president. This episode is extra special, as the director is our very own Tom Welling. We'll talk about his process, perspective, and the infamous teleprompter story.
