Younger looking than they were, these three police officers were able to earn the confidence of the bad guys, infiltrate their domain, and then bust their backsides while still looking good. Miami Vice was still a decade away. The Mod Squad paved the way for hip and happening PO-lice on TV!
Pete falls in love with a young woman he has injured in an auto chase involving a robbery suspect, only to learn she is the sister of the suspect.
A friend of Captain Greer asks the trio to help find out what's bothering his daughter, who has been acting strangely since she's been associating with a group of motorcyclists who also engage in skydiving. The group let an old derelict go with them on a dive and jump, but the old man never opened his parachute.
Linc receives a desperate call from an old friend, now an inmate at a mental institution. Shortly afterward, the friend is dead of "heart failure", only the latest of a number of strange deaths at the place. Linc goes undercover as a patient at the institution, hoping to find out what's going on.
Julie comes to the assistance of her old teacher, who is being targeted by others in her community for teaching sex education in school.
Linc works undercover as an assistant to his childhood friend, movie star Willie Rush, after an attempt on his life with an ill timed car bomb on the movie set. But concerning Linc more was Willie's cavalier lifestyle and attitude, created in part due to Willie's fear that he may have Huntington's disease.
A hard nosed ex-cop returns from Vietnam to investigate the death of his brother, who was killed in a car accident just after he called him and told him that he had seen a murder, and that the murderer was an undercover cop.
The trio becomes involved in the case of a young boy who's being raised in an orphanage. His mother is not taking care of him, but she does not want to give him up for adoption, and she is involved with a drug dealer.
Pete and the Squad try to clear a young Apache falsely accused of murdering a man in a small desert town.
Linc comes to the airport to meet a friend who is returning from Vietnam, only to learn that he was killed by a sniper on the day he was supposed to go home. Suspicious of the story of how his friend died, he wonders if any of the four other servicemen in his unit who have returned know more than they are telling.
Julie becomes involved with a mysterious stranger, a movie actor believed to have died twenty years earlier.
The head of a local campus ROTC is murdered, and the main suspect is the man's mentally disabled teenage son, whom he had frequently beaten. However, Pete and Linc, who have befriended the youth, believe he is innocent.
A man on the run, with the son he doesn't have legal custody of, kidnaps Julie. However, as both have Rocky Mountain spotted fever, she is more concerned for their lives than hers.
Following a death of an immigration agent at a car wash where an undocumented immigrant (and a friend of Pete's) work, the Squad finds a cop involved in the illegal entry of Mexican youths across the border - all tied to a village in Sonora. The officer and Greer are at odds on how to handle the case.
An attention starved misfit gunman hell bent on starting a "war" with the establishment, infiltrates a student protest with Julie trapped as one of the hostages. Also among the hostages is her humanities teacher, who has a heart condition but left her medication in her car.
The Squad investigates a unique nuisance racket headed by a man who turns out to be a close friend of Greer's.
Carl Betz plays a disillusioned solid citizen who becomes involved in the death of a hippie girl. He's seeking the girl's killer while his heartsick daughter searches desperately for him.
A car belonging to a businessman's associate has been stolen. However, the investigation becomes dire after Greer learns that that car was rigged with dynamite, as the businessman wanted to commit murder. The Squad rush to find the car before the dynamite explodes at 5 p.m., potentially killing an innocent family who rented it.
The Squad helps a minister find out who murdered his brother, a psychologist who ran a clinic for troubled youngsters. Besides differing ideologies, complicating matters was that the clinic was used to hold stolen goods before they are fenced.
Greer and another veteran cop have both been frustrated by a drug pusher they've been trying to nail, who has twice had his case dismissed on legal technicalities. Finally, the third time appears to be the clincher, as the man is caught at an airport with a case full of heroin.
A girl working undercover for a cop trying to bring down a drug lord is accidentally killed. Because of her resemblance to the dead girl, Julie is quickly recruited to impersonate her and continue in the mission, despite the great risk.
The trio tries to help a boy in his search for his father, who came to L.A. from West Virginia hoping to find work. It soon becomes apparent that there are people who don't want them to find the man, and that he is in debt to loan sharks.
The Squad helps the son of an aging ex-boxing champ who is being harassed by gamblers for inside information on his dad's return to the ring after an 11-year absence.
While working undercover as safe crackers, Pete and Linc meet a timid, clumsy young man who asks them to teach him about their trade. They learn that the young man has a twin brother who is a successful businessman. What they don't know is that the businessman is actually the leader of the industrial spying ring they are trying to investigate. And that's only the start of the surprises to come.
When his motorcycle breaks down on a trip, Linc stops in an abandoned town, only to discover that a kidnapped boy is being held there for ransom. The kidnappers decide to hold Linc as well until they get the money.
