In Come Dine with Me: The Professionals, teams of professional chefs and restaurateurs will take on each other in a bid to be crowned the best independent restaurant in their town, county or city.Each self-contained episode will feature three local eateries competing to claim the prestigious CDWM:TP award and a cash prize shared among the winning restaurant's staff. Each restaurant will be represented by a partnership of two – for example the owner and head chef – who will welcome their rivals for a meal that they hope will impress. The dinner takes place during a normal service, so the visitors will have the chance to check out the atmosphere, the food and the service. At the end of each meal, the visiting restaurant pairs will score the evening out of 20 with the highest scorers overall scooping the prize. Iconic CDWM voiceover Dave Lamb will be bringing the action together as narrator of each programme.
Three family teams compete in Glasgow, where highlights include African and Iranian dishes, and a chef's recollections of the time he spent on the road with various rock stars.
Three teams from Nottingham host dinner for their rivals, with Becky and Mark showcasing their gastropub grub, competitive duo Antony and James serving up French-inspired posh nosh and Kyme and Gemma hoping to impress with their pub food.
The pros head to Cardiff where Mexican taco restaurant, La Pantera gets the competition going with co-owner Sam and head chef Gary dishing up a mixture of mackerel and Welsh lamb in their trademark tacos. Day two sees Heather and Gareth from The Gate take the dining experience to a whole new level, with a classic menu of seafood and steak. Finally, it's the turn of Sian and Joel from the Horse and Jockey to bring some country gastro pub fayre.
Restaurateurs compete in and around Glasgow. First up is music venue-come-restaurant Bloc, where head chef Andy and front of house Pixie serve up a feast of street food. Day two sees husband-and-wife team Luca and Magda of Italian restaurant Amore d'Italia pulling out all the stops, serving a Sicilian menu with a Scottish twist. Finally, confident duo Teddy and Michael of sushi and noodle soup chain Maki set out to impress.
