Come Dine with Me is a popular Channel 4 television programme shown in the United Kingdom, produced by ITV Studios (formerly known as Granada) and as of 2013, Shiver Productions and first broadcast in January 2005. The show has either four or five amateur chefs competing against each other hosting a dinner party for the other contestants. Each competitor then rates the host's performance with the winner winning a £1,000 cash prize. An element of comedy is added to the show through comedian Dave Lamb, who provides a dry and "bitingly sarcastic" narration.

But Fiona faces her fear with devilled eggs, Danielle discovers the difference between raw and live fish and Amanda's not impressed by Tim's dodgy piano skills... and all that's before we're even done with the starter. During the main course, Maggie's shocked to find out who Tim's famous celebrity sibling is, but everyone is even more surprised during dessert when Danielle reveals her educational past. Will Tim's precise planning pay off, or will his hopes of winning the grand come crumbling down?

Night three in Birmingham starts off well when 29-year-old administrator Danielle's 'finest homemade bread' earns praise, but things quickly go downhill. The table erupts when Danielle serves her main course of blue chicken and pink mash; Tim struggles to see past the colour, but Maggie bravely gets stuck in. A surprise musical performance pulls things back briefly and Fiona isn't shy in showing off her singing skills. But there's a dessert disaster when everyone's served actual grasshoppers.
