Hinter Gittern - Der Frauenknast

"Hinter Gittern" was a German primetime-soap about women in prison. The main character for all sixteen seasons was Christine Walter (Katy Karrenbauer), who is a lesbian and is in prison because of a heist. After she is in prison Walter can also attempted murderer and grievous bodily harm name on her list on crimes. However, she was the hero in the show and in the center stood her love life and her rivalry with director Jutta Adler (Claudia Loerding). After time, between the two strong women had arisen a friendship, which was always in danger, because of their stand on different sides.
The show was very successful and brought the network RTL as far as six million viewers every week.
