Next Episode of Hubert ohne Staller is
unknown.
Despite their mismatched styles, police officer partners Hubert and Staller rely on teamwork as they investigate murder cases in rural Bavaria. From seasons one through seven, the series was called Hubert and Staller. After Helmfried von Lüttichau left, the title was changed to Hubert ohne Staller.
Hubert and Girwidz find the wealthy lawyer Stefan Oberländer floating dead in the lake. Apparently, he was a playboy. In his cell phone, they find Barbara Hansen's phone number listed under the contact name "Glücksbreze." She has recently started baking and selling pretzels with daily sayings, and Oberländer was one of her customers. Apparently, he ate one of these pretzels shortly before his death.
Sabine Kaiser has to do a friend a favor: Her heavily pregnant friend Elke Becker has had a falling-out with her husband and, without further ado, has banished him from their bedroom. Although the police superintendent is extremely busy, she accompanies Elke to a routine checkup at the clinic of the renowned reproductive medicine specialist Dr. Alexander Hecht.
Elke became pregnant through in vitro fertilization, and her due date has long since passed. Upon arriving at the clinic, hormone-ravaged Elke, of all people, makes a gruesome discovery: Dr. Hecht is lying dead in a dumpster!
During a cooking class, Girwidz discovers the body of Matthias Brehm, the owner of the luxury cooking school. His wife, Carola, has no idea how the body ended up in the basement, even though she herself works as a chef at the cooking school. She was also on the verge of divorce and had hardly any contact with her husband anymore. All she knows is that the day before, he had gone out of his way to buy a sack of Wolfratshauser Königsblau potatoes specifically for the class.
Sabine Kaiser is not at all impressed with Hubert and Girwidz's teamwork. For this reason, she has Rebecca book a team-building activity with survival trainer Ulf Johren. District Manager Sabine Kaiser wants to improve the teamwork between Hubert and Girwidz and books a tour with survival trainer Ulf Johren, which turns into survival training in the truest sense of the word. The three of them have no idea that "survival trainer" Ulf Johren isn't Ulf Johren at all, but rather the fugitive Jens Lubczyk, who is wanted by the authorities.
For a hefty price, owner Julia Feind and her employee Patrick Lösche offer "cuddling with no strings attached." Hubert and Girwidz make a gruesome discovery there: Patrick Lösche lies stabbed to death in the cozy bed of the cuddling agency.
Hubert, who considers cuddling to be a superfluous evil in and of itself, immediately suspects the perpetrator is from this milieu. Since Lösche assigned his clients only pseudonyms to protect their anonymity, Hubert and Girwidz must first figure out who is hiding behind the names Schnupperl, Goatee, and Your Highness.
At the local orphanage, the director, Dr. Kleber, fell from the balcony. Not only the evidence at the scene of the accident, but also the statements made by little Oleg quickly raise doubts that this was an accident.
Oleg claims to have witnessed an argument a few days earlier between the orphanage director and a strange, old man with a long beard and a cowl. A scrap of fabric that might have come from some kind of cowl also seems to corroborate Oleg's story.
Friedel, a vegan animal rights activist, harbored animosity toward the murder victim, sausage manufacturer Rolf Wiener. He denies committing the crime, however. The widow, Sylvia Wiener, tells the police about threatening letters the sausage manufacturer had received some time ago. At the factory, marketing director Paula Wolf shows the police the threatening letters and leads them to a research lab.
There they meet employee Johannes Rudzic, who states that Jens Friedel threatened him with a barbecue fork. Pathologist Caroline Fuchs confirms that such a fork could be the murder weapon. She also found a broken wine bottle at the crime scene.
Sabine Kaiser is less than thrilled about a possible murder right in the middle of the police parking lot and wants the case resolved quickly. To complicate matters, however, the victim bears a striking resemblance to Thomas Geltendorf Riedl.
Hubert and Girwidz interrogate the shooter, actor Fritz Weimar, who claims to have received the live firearm from the prop department. The prop master, however, assumed it was a blank-firing pistol. She believes that someone from the crew intentionally swapped out the weapon.
During a routine call, Rebecca and Riedl make a gruesome discovery: building cleaner Daniel Kuhn lies dead in one of the properties listed for sale by real estate agent Dagmar Marcks. Hubert and Girwidz launch the investigation with their usual expertise and are able to prove that the victim had previously broken into the whiskey specialty shop owned by liquor dealer Michael Harlinger.
The Wolfratshauen movie theater is currently hosting a retrospective of the "Indianer Joe" series. Among the attendees is movie fan Riedl, who makes a horrific discovery in the theater at the end of the screening: Caravan manufacturer Josef Blümel is lying dead in the back row! According to Dr. Fuchs' assessment, Blümel choked on a piece of popcorn. For Sabine Kaiser, the case is closed—it was an unforeseeable accident.
Hubert and Girwidz receive a call about a noise disturbance. When they arrive on the scene, they not only encounter three young people with hangovers, but also discover the body of a young woman in the garden pond. Leon Schwarz, the homeowner's son, insists that no one noticed his girlfriend's death—she had said goodbye that night to go home.
Girwidz is chasing a nun who smashed a store window downtown. The store owner is taken to the hospital with a nasty laceration after Hubert and Girwidz had already assumed he was dead. However, they won't be able to question him, since he's in a coma.
A dog leads Hubert and Girwidz to his owner, who is lying murdered in his apartment. Lilly Faber, the partner of the victim, Jürgen Schäfer, claims Schäfer had no enemies, but hints that there were recurring minor arguments between Schäfer and his cousin, Carsten Brändl. Like Schäfer, Brändl is a member of the volunteer fire department and is celebrated as a hero in the local press for having saved a family during his last call.
The Wolfratshausen police precinct has been temporarily relocated to a trailer following a fire—everyone is annoyed by the situation. In contrast, a call to the precinct seems like a routine call: Screams were heard at the Krämer Villa. Hubert and Girwidz initially suspect that the villa's residents simply had the TV turned up too loud. But when they arrive on the scene, the officers not only find Susanne Krämer dead, but also come across a young man who flees at the sight of the police.
