The mountain passes of Norway are some of the most dangerous roads in all of Europe. And when winter hits, the transport roads turn into treacherous bobsleigh tracks with trucks and cars skidding and sliding everywhere, blocking vital trade routes and in extreme cases, causing fatal accidents. But never fear, up and down Norway there are brigades of brave rescue workers, who work around the clock to keep the roads safe and open.It takes a special breed of men to pull off the perfect Ice Road Rescue...from a driver smuggling nappies (of all things!) out of Norway, to a truck in trouble full of fresh fish threatening to go bad – the rescue teams of Norway have their work cut out in this nail-biting series!
After a truck plunges off a cliff, the recovery teams face fresh challenges as dangerous rescues and a restored tow truck are put to the test.
In Overhalla, Raido's already in double trouble rescuing two trucks, when a third truck approaches the accident site and jackknifes across the carriageway. In the south, Bjoern's rescuing a truck and trailer that was blown into the ditch. Working solo on what should be a full team job, he's feeling the pressure until unexpected help arrives.
Thord's rescuing a truck that blocks the main road, when he gets news about a serious head-on collision. He must recover the truck in double-quick time before racing to the other crash site. Jo Roger rescues an excavator that's tipped over above a small creek. With an environmental threat if oil starts to leak, there's no room for error.
Thord battles a blizzard to rescue a truck that blocks one lane of a major road. As traffic speeds past, on a hill that's covered in ice, it's a disaster waiting to happen. Ole Henrik is short of sleep, trying to balance business with being a father. But when a truck carrying a valuable load of fish overturns, he braces himself for an all-nighter.
Jo Roger's under pressure when a crashed truck blocks the main road north-south. With no alternative routes, the accident cuts Norway in two. In the south, a truck parked up for the night starts sliding on sheet ice. During the rescue, Thord realises that the driver had a lucky escape because the truck was close to careering down a steep bank.
Jo Roger's crew risk defeat when their towing gear shatters in extreme cold. Bjoern's called out to recover a stranded car after two tourists stray onto a ski track. And Thord gets angry when a truck driver ignores his advice.
