Rent-A-Girlfriend

Kazuya Kinoshita, a hopeless college student, gets dumped by his first-ever girlfriend after only a month.
Devastated, Kazuya cries himself to sleep, but in desperation, he decides to use a certain method he accidentally found on his smartphone to go on a date with a girl.
"You're Kazuya, right?"
--The next day, the girl who shows up at their meeting place is the pure and lovely Chizuru Mizuhara.

Kazuya had decided he would no longer rely on Chizuru and would never see her again.
However, by chance, they reunite at the same university, and it turns out they're even neighbors in the same apartment building.
Just as Kazuya is being warned by Chizuru that there will be no contact, no interference, and no prying, he receives a call from his grandmother, Kazu.
"I'm coming over now. Could you call Princess Chizuru for me?"
Kazuya can't bring himself to tell her they've broken up...!?

"My place is close by... why don't you stay and rest?"
On his way home from a drinking party, Kazuya was approached by his ex-girlfriend, Asami. Asami
told him that she had lied about having a boyfriend, and Kazuya decided to seize this opportunity.
A few days later, Kazuya went to the beach with the people from the drinking party, and he resolved to use this two-day trip to find out how Asami felt and get back together with her.

Kazuya is suddenly hugged and kissed by Mami behind a rock!
As Kazuya freezes, Mami tells him, "I just couldn't hold back anymore..."
Back on the beach, Kazuya's imagination runs wild, but then he gets a call from Kazu saying he'll be discharged from the hospital next week.
Kazu is happy that he can now go see Chizuru whenever he wants, but Kazuya realizes all over again how he's been deceiving her and finally decides to "break up" with Chizuru.

When Chizuru woke up, she was in the shallow waters of a small island. Finding Kazuya lying unconscious, she remembered that he had jumped in to save her when she fell into the sea. Chizuru called out to Kazuya, but there was no response. "Stop messing around!! Wake up. Hey!!" -- Chizuru leaned closer to the unresponsive Kazuya...
Meanwhile, at the Kinoshita house, plans were being made to go to a hot spring inn deep in the mountains to celebrate Kazu's recovery.

"Why don't you sleep in this room?" — Kazuya ends up spending the night in the same room as Chizuru at a hot spring inn.
Kazuya's heart is racing, but he suddenly wonders what Chizuru thinks of him.
A few days later, Kazuya's friend Kuribayashi tells him that he has a girlfriend, and in the course of the conversation, they decide to go on a double date with Chizuru.
On the day of the date, Kuribayashi introduces him to a stunningly beautiful girl, Sarashina Ruka. It turns out she was the girl Kazuya had bumped into by chance on the street.

Kazuya was tailing Ruka to prevent her from revealing that Chizuru was a rental girlfriend, but he ended up being ambushed by her instead.
As Kazuya tried to get Ruka to promise not to tell anyone, she revealed her own secret.
The next day, as Kazuya was waiting for Kuribayashi at the university, he heard, "Oh! Kazuya-san!"
It was Ruka, who had come to see Kazuya.

Kazuya, who had started a (temporary) relationship with Ruka, lived in constant fear that his relationship with Chizuru might be exposed at any moment.
Winter arrived without him being able to see Chizuru, and it was Christmas Day.
On his way home from the bank, Kazuya spotted Chizuru, who was dressed more stylishly than usual, and began to consider a "cruel possibility."
"Does 'Rental Girlfriend Mizuhara Chizuru' have a boyfriend...?"

Kazuya was delighted with the gift from Chizuru, but he became deeply depressed when he learned that other Rent-a-Girlfriend users had also received gifts.
He asked Chizuru about it at a coffee shop, but she told him it was the agency's decision.
Meanwhile, Ruka was waiting for Kazuya to return to his apartment.
"You're going on a date with me now!"
Kazuya agreed to go wherever Ruka wanted to go.
However, he was taken to a hotel room...!?

Kazuya was thinking about what to spend his first paycheck from his part-time job on, when suddenly Kuribayashi came to mind. He had heard from Kibe that Kuribayashi had been acting strangely lately.
He had been spaced out and muttering about distrusting women.
Kazuya made up his mind and decided to call Kuribayashi.
The next day, as Kuribayashi was waiting for Kazuya—"Shun-kun, right?"
It was Chizuru who showed up at their meeting place...!

Kazuya agrees to go on a date with his junior, Sumi Sakurazawa, a rental girlfriend, at Chizuru's request.
When Kazuya arrives at the meeting place, he finds a girl hiding behind a pillar, her face red and trembling.
"...Ah...Um..."
Sumi is an incredibly beautiful girl, both in voice and looks, but she's so shy that she's too nervous to even say hello.
Thus begins a practice date with Sumi, who can't talk and struggles to smile!

It was Mami who booked Chizuru! She had found out that Chizuru was a rental girlfriend.
Entering the karaoke bar, Mami asks Chizuru about her relationship with Kazuya.
Meanwhile, Kazuya, who is working part-time, happens to see the two walking through the bar and observes what's going on.
In the midst of all this, Mami throws another question at Chizuru—"I was wondering if you ever fall in love with someone while you're working as a rental girlfriend."
