But she wants to keep their "relationship" a secret, and there's a complication, she goes to his university, their grandmothers are in the same home, and they live next door to each other. Then Kazuya finds out she's not nearly as nice in "real life." (from manga)
Kazuya and Chizuru have decided to make a movie together so that Granny Sayuri can see it. That's all well and good, but now they have to sit down and work out all the details.
Ruka demands an explanation from Kazuya and Chizuru, and Mini overhears it all going down! What will she do with this information?
Kazuya was fully committed to filmmaking, searching for a script and arranging a film crew, but three weeks after its launch, the crowdfunding page had completely lost momentum. When he
told Mini, who had come to him seeking an update on Kazuya and Chizuru's relationship, about this, she suggested they hold a strategy meeting.
"I might be able to help! I've done crowdfunding before!"
To ensure the crowdfunding campaign's success, Chizuru's fellow actor, Kai, agrees to help spread the word.
Kazuya and the others are delighted, but Chizuru reveals that Kai has asked her for a favor.
"Kai invited me to see a play," she says.
It concerns the crucial final day of the crowdfunding campaign.
Summer vacation began, and filming started. Kazuya, feeling the weight of his producer title, handled various chores on set.
Watching Chizuru's impressive acting, Kazuya was once again reminded of her talent, but he also felt dejected as he realized the vast distance between him and her.
"I'm so sorry for all the trouble I've caused you up until now..."
Chizuru said to Kazuya...
Thanks to Mini's scheme, Kazuya and Chizuru are on a film shoot trip together. Upon arriving at the hotel, they discover that only one room has been booked.
Kazuya is visibly nervous about having to share a room, but film preparations continue.
Just as the final scene is about to begin, Chizuru calls out to Kazuya.
"...There's something I want to talk to you about."
On Ruka's birthday, Kazuya had promised to grant her any wish she had, so the two of them went to the pool.
Ruka changed into her bikini swimsuit and asked Kazuya to put sunscreen on her.
"I'll make your heart race! I'll give it my all, Kazuya-kun!"
Wanting to use her birthday as an opportunity to quickly close the distance between them, Ruka was more proactive than usual...!
Ruka spots Kazuya, Chizuru, and Mini talking outside the apartment.
Usually, she would confront them, but for some reason, she looks somewhat relaxed!
Moreover, when Ruka suddenly calls Kazuya by his first name, everyone is visibly shaken.
Meanwhile, in the film production, Kazuya and Chizuru go to scout out the theater where the film will be shown.
Sayuri also ends up going along...
Chizuru, who is staying by Sayuri's side even after she has been rushed to the hospital and remains unconscious, is torn about whether she should tell her now that her relationship with Kazuya is a lie.
She also regrets not being able to show Sayuri the movie she starred in, when suddenly Kazuya appears.
"Hey, wait a minute! What are you doing coming in out of nowhere?!"
Chizuru exclaims, surprised and angered. However, Kazuya says nothing, turns on the laptop and projector he was holding, and leaves the hospital room...
In an attempt to find something he can do for Chizuru, who has lost Sayuri, Kazuya calls Sumi, his "rental girlfriend," and confides in her about his situation.
Sumi listens intently and tries to pull Kazuya away somewhere.
"I also want to do something for Chizuru-chan..."
Their destination turns out to be the sea...!?
"I'll cheer her up! I'll spend the whole day cheering up Mizuhara!!"
Kazuya decides to take Chizuru on a date to cheer her up. Chizuru, who appears at the meeting place as a "rental girlfriend," is surprisingly cheerful, as if nothing happened, which takes Kazuya by surprise.
Kazuya is worried that Chizuru seems to have recovered, but he continues with his date plan.
What will become of this encouraging date...?
Towards the end of their encouraging date, while they were setting off sparklers in a park at night, Kazuya witnessed Chizuru's eyes welling up with tears and her body trembling.
As Chizuru quickly returned to her usual smile, Kazuya was reminded of their relationship as "rental girlfriend and client," and he was struck by his own powerlessness.
Recalling all the different sides of Chizuru he had seen up until then, Kazuya slowly began to speak—
"My... 'ideal girlfriend' is..."
