Next Episode of Metoda Markovič: Hojer is
unknown.
The plot of the miniseries takes place in Prague at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s, when Prague did not have a very friendly impression at first glance: Gray crowds in front of half-empty shops, houses decorated with peeling posters commemorating famous anniversaries. Her night street is gripped by a completely new, terrifying phenomenon - young sexual rapists with sadistic tendencies. Elite criminal Jiří Markovič sets out on the trail of these very criminals. The miniseries not only follows the process of the investigation and capture of Ladislav Hojer, but above all offers an insight into the specific relationship between Hojer and Markovic. In each volume, he also provides insight into other closed cases that shaped Markovič's career as an elite investigator and illustrate the development of his method.
Only 55 days have passed since Ladislav Hojer was sentenced to death by the city court. The 1985 Spartakiad is approaching and the heads of the STB department hope that nothing will disrupt this magnificent sporting event. However, a young woman is found dead in Prague and everything indicates that she is a sexual rapist. Jiří Markovič has no idea that he has the biggest case of his career ahead of him.
A second dead woman is found. What's more, another woman was attacked nearby that same evening, and survived the attack only by chance. It's clear to Markovič that a dangerous serial killer is on the loose in Prague, and he finds himself under increasing pressure from the StB. He believes it's a juvenile sexual aggressor, but his friend Dr. Řemen disagrees. It would be a great rarity.
With the discovery of another dead woman, fear of an unknown strangler begins to spread throughout the city. Jiří Markovič has to submit regular reports to the StB general, and it seems that the detectives are just overstepping their bounds. Fortunately, they discover a seemingly unrelated assault case that may be key to the investigation.
Straka is finally caught and Jiří Markovič faces 24 hours of intense police work. Under the supervision of the StB, the investigators must question not only Jiří Straka but also his parents. They are under time pressure and cannot make any mistakes.
Jiří Markovič tries to get under Straka's skin, but his methods don't work this time. What are the real motivations of the teenage killer? Is he playing a game with him? Or has someone else played the game with Markovič?
Jiří Markovič decides to live up to his moral principles and deals with Jiří Straka on a level playing field until the very last moment. Can he get his revenge this time? Does Jiří Straka realize the consequences of his actions? And what is a fair punishment for a juvenile murderer?
