Riko, a girl from Paldea who possesses a mysterious pendant. Roy, a boy from Kanto who possesses a mysterious Poké Ball. A new adventure for Riko and Roy begins in the vast world of Pocket Monsters ! What encounters and destinies await them!? This is a story of "discovering" something important through adventure.
Weenival and Dekanuchan are suffering from sleep deprivation!? That's when Riko and her friends meet Professor Neroli, who studies Pokémon sleep. They head to Wakakusa Island together and try to use the power of Snorlax to put Weenival and the others to sleep, but the hungry Snorlax wakes up... In order to fill Snorlax's stomach and get it to sleep, they all try to make "Absolute Sleep Butter Curry"!!
Rico, along with Mascanha, Loudbone, and Weenival, is going to compete in a Pokémon Contest! After receiving special training from Navi, who calls herself his coach, the big day arrives. The venue is filled with talented contestants, including the Pikachu idol group "Cutie Pikapika"! Seeing her rivals perform makes Rico feel anxious...
Rico and his friends have come to watch the Moto Lizard Race. There, Rico encounters Millydon and Roy encounters Collydon! Mistaking them for Moto Lizards, the two befriend them by giving them food, but as soon as Collydon and Millydon hear the sound of the race, they run off! Rico and Roy get caught up in the chaos and end up joining the race themselves!?
Riko and Navi visit a cafe to try the Ditto collaboration menu. There, they encounter Yakata, a salaryman with a Pyukumuku and Snom on his shoulders and a Pincurchin on his head! Invited by Yakata, who has a deep love for squishy things, Riko and her friends decide to participate in "Punipoke activities," or "Pupo activities" for short, where they can admire squishy Pokémon!?
Riko and her friends are invited by Freed to go on a fieldwork trip. Accompanying them is Professor Willow, who travels the world researching Pokémon! As they conduct their research together, Riko and her friends hear the story of how Freed and Charizard first met. It was when Freed was still a child and Charizard was still a Charmander... The story of their first meeting is revealed.
