Riko, a girl from the Paldea region, enrolls in Sekiei Academy, a boarding school in the Kanto region. She's thrilled to receive her first Pokémon, Nyaoha, but Nyaoha is incredibly disobedient... Riko struggles to deepen her bond with Nyaoha. Meanwhile, suspicious figures begin to appear, seeking the mysterious pendant Riko possesses—!?

Rico is being pursued by the Explorers, a group after a mysterious pendant. She is rescued by Freed, who appears from the sky with Charizard, but she can't trust him either... What awaits her at the destination is Freed's group, the Rising Volteckers, and their airship, the Brave Asagi!

Nyaoha has been kidnapped by the Explorers. Rico is determined to get Nyaoha back, and Freed and the others agree to help. Rico and Freed track down the Explorers' hideout, but Amegio is waiting for them there...! Will Rico be able to get Nyaoha back?!

The Rising Volteckers' airship makes an emergency landing on a remote island in the Kanto region due to a malfunction. However, the ship's Pokémon, Hogeta, has mysteriously disappeared. Riko and Nyaoha land on the island to search for Hogeta. Meanwhile, Roy, a boy living on the island, witnesses a mysterious Pokémon he's never seen before…!?

Roy arrives at the Rising Volteckers' airship with the sole desire to see Hogeta again. However, a series of unfortunate events prevent him from meeting Hogeta. As the time for departure approaches, will the two be able to reunite...? Meanwhile, a submarine belonging to the Explorers, led by Amegio, is closing in on the airship—!?

The Explorers, aiming for Rico and the pendant, land on the island and stand in the way of the Rising Volteckers. Rico and Roy work together, putting up a good fight with the combined strength of Nyaoha and Hogeta, but Amegio and Armorgaa take advantage of a lapse in their defenses and close in. At that moment, Rico's pendant shines once again! And something strange happens to the "Ancient Monster Ball" that Roy possesses...!?

The Rising Volteckers continue their aerial journey. Rico and Roy decide to train with Captain Pikachu to become stronger in Pokémon battles! Nyaoha and Hogeta are no match for the overwhelmingly powerful Captain. However, through their training with Captain, Rico realizes something—!?

On the Rising Volteckers' airship, their stored food supplies were running low. Had someone been sneaking a bite...? With no other choice, the members split up to go shopping for more supplies. Meanwhile, Rico, who was left behind, efficiently completed her laundry and cleaning duties. She then decided to take a peek at the "special secret" that Roy had told her about...!

The Rising Volteckers arrive in the Paldea region where Rico's home is located. Rico, along with Fried and Roy, heads home and is greeted by his father, Alex. Rico tries to relax in his new home after being away for so long, but unexpectedly overhears Alex's true feelings: "I want you to stay home with me from now on." Will Rico's adventure, which has just begun, come to an end here...?

Guided by Riko's father, Alex, Riko and Roy arrive in Bowl Town to meet Gym Leader Corsa. There, they meet Champion-ranked trainer Nemo! Together with Nemo, Riko and Roy visit Corsa, but the gym is currently closed...!? What could have happened to Corsa...?

Rico and Roy head to the forest where Corsa encountered a black Rayquaza. Molly becomes interested and joins them. Along the way, the three see the horrific aftermath of a forest fire, but their destination remains largely untouched. Rico and the others begin searching for Rayquaza, but soon the three become separated. Meanwhile, Oliva, who lives in the forest, also makes a move…!?

Rico and Roy are once again confronted with the devastation caused by the wildfire. Rico decides to restore the forest for the sake of the wild Pokémon that lived there. They're finally off to the Galar region where Riko's grandmother lives! ...Or so they thought, but a problem occurs with the airship's control system. While waiting for the system to be fixed, the Rising Volteckers decide to have a picnic. Riko enjoys making sandwiches with her friends, but she can't help but worry about Dot who's still on the airship...

Roy and Hogeta, intrigued by the unusual Kaiden they encountered during their picnic, decide to go see him again. Kaiden is spending time alone, separated from his pack, and it seems he has some kind of secret…! Meanwhile, Freed spots a suspicious Pokémon near the airship. What awaits him when he chases after the fleeing Pokémon…!?

Riko has gone missing after going out shopping! Based on eyewitness accounts Dot has gathered online, the Rising Volteckers search Bowl Town, but no matter how hard they look, they can't find her... Sensing the presence of an unseen enemy, tension fills the group. In order to speed up the search, Dot makes a trump card and contacts... Nanjamo, the Gym Leader of Hakkou City and a popular video streamer!?

Rico's pendant has been stolen by someone. The Rising Volteckers deduce that the culprit is still nearby and launch a recovery operation. As Rico and the others search for the pendant, the "Ancient Monster Ball" containing Oliva, one of the Six Heroes Pokémon who traveled with the ancient adventurer Lucius, suddenly begins to glow. Guided by the light, where will they go...?

Kaiden and Hogeta are constantly fighting. Roy is troubled by the two who can't seem to get along, so he comes up with an idea to deepen their bond by having them team up and battle Captain Pikachu. However, even in battle, the two can't work together and end up fighting again... Meanwhile, turbulence appears in front of the airship Brave Asagi as it flies through the sky...!?

Did Captain Pikachu fly? During the battle, Captain Pikachu appeared to be flying. Rico and Roy confront Freed to find out the secret, but he brushes them off. With the help of Orio and his friends, Freed finally gives in and begins to tell the story. The group arrives in the Galar region. Leaving their conspicuous airship behind, they decide to travel by land to the old castle where Riko's grandmother, Diana, resides. Riko and Roy, along with Murdoch, head to the Battle Cafe, where they encounter Mitchell, a former pastry chef colleague of Murdoch's. But it seems the two have some kind of history…!?

Riko and Roy meet Kabu, the Gym Leader of Engine Stadium. They tell him that since Kabu is from the Hoenn region, he might know something about Rayquaza, another legendary Pokémon from Hoenn. Moved by Riko and Roy's feelings, he agrees to train them. Life is a journey of training until you die! Keep learning! Kabu's fiery training begins now!

Meanwhile, Amegio, who felt his own inadequacy after battling a black Rayquaza, makes a certain request to Hambell in order to reach even greater heights...

The Rising Volteckers have finally run out of funds... In order to raise money, Freed and Cap accept a request to search for a lost Pokémon, Anokusa! Rico, who has to give a presentation on "Ideal Bonds" in class, also decides to help with the search for Anokusa with Roy in order to observe Freed and Cap...!?
