The Great Australian Bake Off features ten or twelve passionate home bakers competing in a grueling elimination series, crafting a mouth-watering selection of cakes, pies, tarts, pastries, bread, biscuits, and desserts, all in the hope of being crowned Australia's Best Home Baker. In each episode, contestants are challenged with a signature bake, a technical bake, and a showstopper, with judges critiquing their creations and ultimately selecting a "Star Baker" and eliminating one contestant each week. The show tests their baking skills, creativity, and prowess under pressure.
In Surprise Week, the remaining bakers create Lamingtons, a Surprise Pie, and Remote-Control Vehicle Cakes.
In the Great Outdoors Week, the remaining bakers make a Damper, Spiral Curry Puffs, and a Gourmet Picnic Basket - perfect for an alfresco feast.
In History Week, the remaining bakers take on a Linzer Torte, a Passionfruit Souffle, and a Decorated Bundt, exploring iconic bakes through time.
In the Finale, the remaining bakers take on Patisserie Tacos, a Mont Bleu, and a Tessellate Cake in their final bid for the title of Australia's best amateur baker.
