Over the next 10 weeks our 12 bakers will undertake 30 challenges, with just one being crowned Australia's best amateur baker. And what better way to kick off the series than with a Bake Off cake off! The bakers have two hours to bake one family sized signature cake. The bakers have to cook in an unfamiliar kitchen to a tight deadline under the watchful eyes of judges Maggie Beer and Matt Moran.
This week, our 10 remaining bakers will put their best feet forward for choux pastry, baking éclairs for Signature, a technically demanding Paris Brest and a beautiful Gateau St Honore Showtopper.
Our eight remaining bakers have reached the halfway point in the competition – and what better to celebrate than bake with chocolate. This week, our bakers will take on a classic Signature of brownies, a frustrating technical of the legendary Black Forest Gateau and a triple threat Showstopper Chocolate Medley which must be made up of three different types of chocolate.
This week, it's carb overload, with the seven remaining bakers taking on a Signature challenge of savoury flat breads, a Technical challenge of baking knotted bread rolls and a Showstopper stolen bread. Who will rise to the challenge?
This week will see the six remaining bakers take on tasty desserts. In the Signature challenge, they will be baking mouthwatering individual pudding; an Aussie classic will be served up during the Technical challenge and the Showstopper will force the bakers to go to the next level by baking a spectacular tiered dessert.
This week the final five roll out their pastry skills, facing a Signature challenge of miniature savoury pastries, Maggie's Technical mushroom, thyme and leek pithivier recipe, and a Showstopping strudel.
The remaining four bakers take on the classics; doughnuts for the Signature challenge, a passion-filled Technical challenge of Passionfruit Tart, and a High Tea Showstopper that will push the bakers to new heights.
Over nine weeks, twelve of Australia's finest home bakers undertook a series of baking challenges and now just three remain. This epic conclusion will test the finalists to new limits. Who will be crowned Bake Off champion?
