Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live your life off the grid? Have you wished you could shed the complications of modern society and live in the wilderness, using only the things nature has provided? Meet Eustace Conway, Tom Oar and Marty Meierotto of the new History series Mountain Men, three men who have devoted their lives to survival in its simplest form. But how simple is it really for the Mountain Men?From the rugged Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina to the seven-month-long winters on the Yaak River in Montana to the frigid northern range of Alaska, the country is full of some very unforgiving terrain. Watch as these men face off against mudslides, falling trees, ravaging weather and even hungry animals, to make sure they obtain the food and supplies they will need to make it through the brutal winter months ahead.
A new generation of mountain men takes on the Wild North, as Randy battles wolves threatening his cattle, Kie and Dave target destructive beavers, Broc experiments with a new way to lure bears, and Connor puts his next generation of sled dogs to the test.
Broc hauls barrels of honey high into the trees in hopes of drawing bears out of hiding; Kie and Dave make use of every part of their beaver harvest; Connor takes his B-team of sled dogs into the wilderness, where one mistake threatens to derail the run.
Family tradition fuels a long-awaited bear hunt, a massive tree threatens a remote homestead, and a 20-mile journey across the ice puts a young team of sled dogs to the test.
A hard-earned trophy is preserved in bone, generations of knowledge are passed down, a hidden hazard threatens a homestead, and a new line of defense is built against fire season.
As winter gives way to spring, the Wild North becomes increasingly unpredictable. Melting snow, treacherous terrain and a sudden whiteout force the mountain men to race the changing conditions before their windows of opportunity disappear.
