THE AMAZING RACE is a multi-Emmy Award-winning reality series hosted by Emmy Award- nominated host Phil Keoghan, which pits 11 teams, each comprised of two members, against each other on a trek around the world for approximately 25 days. At every destination, each team must compete in a series of challenges, some mental and some physical, and only when the tasks are completed will they learn of their next location. The third edition of the $1 million race around the world begins in Miami, as the 12 teams of two learn of their first destination: Mexico City. There they must choose between skydiving and donkey-cart racing, and the first team is eliminated.
A car collides with a bus carrying several teams on a Mexican road, leaving the players to deal with the aftermath. Also, two teams wipe-out while riding waverunners.
The teams travel to Scotland and participate in traditional Scottish games to avoid elimination. Also, an alliance develops among several teams in order to oust one specific duo, and two teams miss a crucial airline connection.
The teams race from Scotland to Portugal, where a fourth pair is eliminated.
The teams rappel down a cliff in Lisbon, Portugal, and then race to Spain and Morocco. While traveling, some teams mistakenly fill their vehicles with the wrong fuel and suffer the consequences.
The teams dash through Morocco to Marrakesh to avoid elimination. One task each pair must complete involves selling escargot to local citizens.
The teams fly to Munich and then travel by train to Austria. One team oversleeps on the train and misses its stop.
The five remaining teams race through Zurich, Switzerland, to reach the next pit stop. Also, a romantic bond develops between two members of opposing teams.
Five teams race from the Swiss Alps to Malaysia and then to Singapore. Along the way, the teams must bungee jump more than 600 feet.
