Next Episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is
Season 26 / Episode 3 and airs on 21 January 2017 02:00
With roadside diners, vintage drive-ins and out-of-the-way "dives" enjoying a resurgence of hipness among foodies, host Guy Fieri travels across America in search of some of the best "greasy spoon" eateries. The restaurants that Guy visits are usually well-known among locals and other people in the region. While at each location, Fieri talks to the staff as well as the customers to get their thoughts on the food. Many episodes feature eateries that are connected by a common thread, such as burgers or comfort foods but its all here on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
This trip, Guy Fieri is cruising the islands with his buddy, Chef Reno Henriques, on a culinary tour of Maui, Hawaii. First, they sample a real-deal taste of regional favorites like loco moco and kalbi ribs. Then, they stop at a legit barbecue joint smoking up St. Louis-style ribs and the bomb burnt ends, and a food truck dishing out the freshest catch served raw, baked and even deep-fried.
This trip, Guy Fieri is going international with flavors from Asia, Africa and India. In Los Angeles, California, he visits a funky fast Filipino joint spicing up house-made hot dogs and piling pork adobo onto grilled cheese. In San Francisco, California, there is a Triple-G competitor adding Ethiopian flair to chicken jambalaya and fresh catch. And in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Guy stops at a lights-out Indian joint killing it with classics like tikka masala and naan.
This trip, Guy Fieri is cooking up everything from creole to cold cuts to crazy Asian crepes. First, it's a multi-generational joint bringing New Orleans, Louisiana to Los Angeles, California with off-the-hook gumbo and étouffée. In Minneapolis, Minnesota, there's a unique deli stacking sandwiches with vegan turkey, vegan cheese and Italian meat-free "meats." And in Maui, Hawaii, Guy tries a noodle spot dishing out righteous ramen and off-the-chain Vietnamese crepes.
Pub food is on the menu. Included: a Minneapolis brewery known for its pulled pork and brisket sandwich; a Miami joint serving Southern favorites like hen and dumplings and a lamb belly BLT; and an Italian restaurant and bar dishing out mega-meat pizza and wild boar gnocchi.
In Maui, Hawaii, a sushi joint serves rolls and ice cream made with a local favorite; in Los Angeles, spins on pizza and lasagna; in Minneapolis, a Middle Eastern market, restaurant and hummus factory serves up shawarma and falafel.
A New England spin on corned beef and cabbage; a fresh take on stroganoff; Ethiopian specialties; an over-the-top hot dog spot.
